Static sites are another migration path and are one way to keep an application alive with lower effort and higher sustainability.
Often times, by the time a project reaches maturity we have a much better understanding of what features or capabilities are important. We can take just the most useful, important parts of an application to allow it to live on.
Not a sunsetting, but maybe a point you don’t get to without suggesting sunsetting.
It’s also worth noting that a static site migration can be completed by someone other than the original developer.
