We work in an academic library in a technology department. While we think a lot of what we write applies outside of academic libraries and technology work, that’s our background.
Working on the context of an academic library these days means managing lots of change. Academic libraries also have particular challenges like actually running multiple “businesses” at once.
Working in technology means managing both technology change as well as making those shifts into new areas of work.
Sunsetting is one reaction we have had to dealing with the context we work within.
