Sunsetting is simply a means to an end, not the goal itself, so what are we really trying to achieve? There are lots of reasons to consider sunsetting but the ones we want to focus on are about how it addresses a particular set of challenges in academic libraries. As we’ll likely repeat throughout we think these can apply to other areas as well. Sunsetting can be an effective way of managing some of these challenges.
